Methodology

How Retenzy scores your store.

Every audit is generated the same way: crawl the storefront, detect retention features, score them by impact, and benchmark against published industry research.

The audit pipeline

01 · Crawl

We scan publicly accessible pages — homepage, products, rewards, policies — and inspect the rendered storefront HTML.

02 · Detect

30+ retention features across loyalty, referrals, reviews, email capture, accounts, trust, and post-purchase experience.

03 · Score

Categories are weighted by their impact on repeat purchase behavior and combined into a 0–100 retention score.

04 · Benchmark

Impact estimates are drawn from published industry studies and stated as percentages or multipliers — never fabricated figures.

Repeat purchase rate by niche

Repeat purchase rate (RPR) varies widely by category. We benchmark a store against its own niche — the median range and the top-quartile level strong performers reach.

A note on accuracy

Audits are based on publicly visible storefront signals. Some retention activity (for example, email flows configured in the backend) cannot be observed from the storefront, so scores can understate stores that run strong off-page programs. Benchmarks are drawn from published industry research and refreshed periodically.
